Google Ads prices in Morocco: the budget, the fees and the starting calculation

Google has no fixed price: the advertiser sets the budget and, on the Search Network, pays for clicks on their ads. What a campaign really costs, line by line, and the calculation that gives a starting budget in dirhams.

A Google Ads campaign in Morocco costs two separate things: the advertising budget, paid directly to Google from your account, whose amount you set yourself, and the fees of the agency or expert who manages it. Google has no fixed price: on the Search Network, it charges for clicks on your ads. At UltraVision Agency, managing Google Ads costs €490 (≈ MAD 5,400) a month, and we recommend €800 to €1,500 (≈ MAD 8,800 to 16,500) a month of advertising budget to start.

How much does Google Ads cost in Morocco?

Google says so itself: there is no fixed price, and the advertiser decides on the budget. For a Search Network campaign, you pay when someone clicks on your ad. The price of that click is not fixed either: it comes from an auction, and Google points out that it does not depend on the budget alone, but also on the competition and the quality of the ad. The amount actually charged for a click is often lower than the maximum bid you set.

ManagementThe agency, every monthThe searches targeted, the ads, the bids, the report

An “all-inclusive” quote that does not separate these lines leaves you guessing how much actually goes to Google.

How do you calculate a Google Ads budget?

The right budget is not taken from a market average: it is calculated, in four lines.

  • Estimate the cost of a click on the searches you are targeting. Keyword Planner, in the Tools menu of Google Ads, gives estimates of the number of searches and the cost of targeting them.
  • Estimate your landing page's conversion rate: out of a hundred visitors, how many send an enquiry? With no history, start from a cautious assumption, and correct it after two weeks of advertising.
  • Divide the number of enquiries you want each month by that rate: this gives the number of clicks to buy. Multiply it by the cost of a click: that is the monthly budget.
  • Divide that budget by 30.4, the average number of days in a month that Google uses: that is the average daily budget to enter in the campaign.
Cost of a click (example)Conversion rate (example)Cost of an enquiryBudget for 30 enquiries a monthAverage daily budget
MAD 45%MAD 80MAD 2,400about MAD 79
MAD 85%MAD 160MAD 4,800about MAD 158
MAD 153%MAD 500MAD 15,000about MAD 493

When the budget you get is more than you can spend, narrow the scope rather than the budget: fewer searches, those closest to a purchase, over a smaller area. A campaign that covers ten searches properly is worth more than one that covers a hundred without enough money for any of them.

Can Google spend more than the planned budget?

Yes, on some days, and by design. According to Google Ads Help, for most campaigns, a single day's spend can reach twice the average daily budget, to take advantage of days when people search more. Over the month, it does not exceed 30.4 times that daily budget.

A budget of MAD 100 a day can therefore cost MAD 200 on a busy day, but no more than MAD 3,040 over the month: the figure entered in Google is an average, not a daily cap.

What do you pay a Google Ads expert or agency for?

The fees pay for the work that decides the cost of a customer, far more than the budget itself:

  • Choosing the searches to buy, and above all those to exclude: a badly chosen search uses up the budget without producing enquiries.
  • Writing the ads, as close as possible to what the person typed.
  • Conversion tracking: without it, you know what a click costs, never what a customer costs.
  • The landing page. A perfect ad that leads to a generic home page loses most of its clicks.
  • Adjusting bids and budgets every week, and a monthly report that links each enquiry to the search that produced it.

Before handing an account to an expert, check three things: the account is opened in your name, the advertising budget is on a separate line from the fees, and conversion tracking is installed before launch. The other questions are in our article on choosing a digital marketing agency.

How do you create a Google Ads account in Morocco?

Sign-up is done online, from Morocco as from anywhere else. A few settings, however, cannot be fixed later:

  • Three steps, according to Google Ads Help: your business information (its name and website address), your campaign goals and budget, then your payment details. You can also create the account without a campaign, and launch the first one later.
  • The currency is set permanently when the account is created: to change it, you have to open a new account. The time zone cannot be changed afterwards either; it is used for reports and billing, so check it before confirming.
  • The billing country determines the payment options available. Depending on the country and currency, Google charges the account after your ads run (post-pay), or you add credit in advance (prepay).
  • If you pay by card, check with your bank that it is enabled for international online payments: a declined card is enough to stop a campaign.
  • Taxes. Google states that taxes or VAT may apply to a business depending on its location: check the tax line on your invoices, and ask your accountant how to handle it.

When your customers already type in what they need: an emergency, a medical appointment, a car hire. The demand exists before the ad, and Google captures it at the moment of the search. When the product has to be seen to be wanted — a place, a dish, a treatment — video on Meta does the job better. The full comparison is in Meta Ads or Google Ads: where should you start?

One limit: a Google campaign only spends if the searches exist. For a very specific local service, search volume caps the campaign before the budget does. Check it in Keyword Planner, and cover the languages your customers search in: French, Arabic, and Darija written in Latin letters.

On Google, you do not buy attention: you buy a question that has already been asked.

What is the minimum budget to start on Google Ads?

Google has no fixed price: the advertiser chooses an average daily budget. Divided by 30.4, it gives the average daily budget to enter in the campaign.
